According to reports by ETN, an Iranian shipping company spokesman has revealed that there are plans to create an Islamic tourism cruise.
The journey is expected to be up and running in 2016. The cruise will venture between Muscat, Salalah and Iran in Oman and Mumbai in India.
The Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization have supported the new and exciting plans. The Maritime Organization currently schedule cargo services for areas between Iran and Oman.
The masters behind the cruise hope to attract mainly Iranian and Omani visitors. The journey will last between seven to ten days. This depends on clients' demands.
Recently, research that has been gathered indicates that tourism between the two countries is increasing.
Last year, the amount of travel from Iran to Oman grew by an impressive 10%, according to the Iranian embassy in Muscat. Besides, the number of travel visas that have been issued to Omanis has jumped up by 37%.
Airlines have also reported positive progress. Oman Air announced that they were launching a second flight on a daily basis flying to the Iranian capital, Tehran. The famous airline has also reported that they will start to schedule more routes between Oman and other Iranian cities including but not limited to Shiraz and Mashhad.
The cruise will allow tourist to visit an array of places that the country has to offer. The journey is expected to take their passengers to Iran's ski destination, Dizin. This is in the Alborz mountain range and offers a beautiful scenery with lots to do and see.
